The practical checklist

Browser game not loading? Start here.

Work out which part failed before changing settings. A blank page, a stopped data download and a frozen 3D scene point to different problems.

Browser game not loading? Start here.
Keyboard instructions from the original HexGL project. A loaded page and a focused game are separate checks.

KEEP IN MIND

  • Blank 3D scene: check WebGL and try lower quality.
  • Loading indicator stops: check the exact host and data requests.
  • Keys scroll the page: click inside the game first.
  • Progress disappeared: return to the same host and profile before clearing anything.

1. Check the exact game address

Open the project’s launch link directly. Read any current maintenance notice. Another website with the same game name may use a different engine version or host, so a fix for one build may not apply to the other.

2. Separate loading from graphics

Watch for progress text or a download indicator. WebAssembly games may request large data files after the page opens. A game that reaches its menu but produces a blank 3D scene needs a different check: WebGL availability, browser version and graphics settings.

3. Check controls and saving early

Click inside the game before trying keys. Read its own input help. Test a save and export it before investing hours, if the host provides those controls. Record the browser, device, game URL and exact error when reporting an issue to the project.

4. Keep the experiment reversible

Try a fresh tab and another supported browser before deleting stored site data. Do not turn off browser security or install a random extension because a game page asks. Clearing storage can remove progress; keep an exported save where possible.
