STRATEGY / WEB-NATIVE

Ancient Beast.

Ancient Beast puts creatures with different abilities on a hexagonal battlefield. Its official guide describes 1v1 and 2v2 modes, movement, energy and targeting, including units that occupy more than one hexagon. The direct play link opens the game embedded by the project’s own website. Read the active mode before assuming that a particular opponent or network option is available.

A creature can occupy several hexes

The official guide notes that units can span up to three hexagons. A path that appears open for a small creature may not offer the same placement to a long one. Read highlighted movement and the full footprint, then consider where the creature will stand after the action rather than looking only at its leading hex.

Energy and position constrain abilities

Health, energy, movement and special abilities appear as separate unit information. Check the cost and valid target of the selected ability before planning an attack around it. An area effect and a single-target action reward different arrangements; the current target preview is a better reference than the artwork alone.

Choose the actual match setup

The documentation describes multiple modes and input methods, while the running host determines which options are currently exposed. Read the setup screen before starting a shared session. The project’s marketing page embeds the same direct play host linked here; opening the direct host avoids confusing the surrounding website with the battlefield itself.
