STRATEGY / WEB-NATIVE

Pokémon Showdown.

Pokémon Showdown is a browser battle simulator with formats, a teambuilder and online opponents. The client repository explicitly identifies the original play host and documents mobile browser support. Start by reading the selected format: the rules of a random-team battle and a format using a team you built affect what you need to prepare before the first turn.

Format determines preparation

The client supports multiple battle formats. Read the format selection before expecting a particular roster, rule set or team-building requirement. For a first session, learning where the current battle presents legal actions is more useful than copying a team into an unrelated format. Match the team to the rules you actually selected.

Read the turn before committing

The battle interface separates the active Pokémon, move options, switching and the battle log. Use those regions to reconstruct the last turn before choosing the next action. This profile provides an entry point to the simulator, not competitive damage calculations or a prediction of what another player will do.

Preserve teams deliberately

A team export is a readable representation you can keep outside the browser. Account registration, a saved replay and a team export solve different problems. Inspect each control on the original host, keep a separate copy of a team that matters, and avoid entering credentials into unofficial copies of the client.

BEFORE YOU CLOSE THE TAB

What happens to your progress?

Teams, account identity and battle replays are different records. Use the teambuilder’s import/export controls for teams and read the replay controls after a battle; do not assume signing in backs up every local team.

A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS

Before the next click.
