Café Havoc.

Café Havoc is a standalone browser roguelike from Ondřej Žára. The project publishes a playable host, a screenshot and the source for its tutorial and keyboard handling. Its interface gives the map and narrative text separate space. Start with the built-in tutorial and read the result after each action; that is a safer introduction than assuming another roguelike’s shortcuts apply unchanged.

Give the tutorial time

The repository includes a dedicated tutorial implementation. Follow the action currently being introduced and wait for its response before trying a string of commands. This keeps an unexpected result traceable to a particular input and gives you a reference for understanding the map, rather than a list of unexplained keyboard presses.

Use the narrative column

The creator identifies Lora for the verbose text and Metrickal for the map and navigation bars. Those regions have different jobs. Read the prose after a change in the map, particularly when an action appears to have failed or produced a consequence that a single symbol cannot explain.

Keep source access and reuse rights distinct

The original source is publicly inspectable and the browser host is linked in the README. This review did not locate a repository-wide redistribution licence. The profile therefore points to the original build, credits the author and fonts, and labels the published screenshot without claiming ownership or repackaging the complete game.

Where should I learn the controls?

Use the built-in tutorial and the current on-screen prompts.

Does saving this profile preserve a run?

No. This site’s Saved feature preserves a link, not the game’s current state.
