Sleeping Beauty.

Sleeping Beauty is Ondřej Žára’s compact roguelike, published with its own browser build and source. The creator’s screenshot shows a text-and-map interface rather than a conventional animated action screen. Open the introductory instructions before choosing actions, then keep the map and message area in view. The project is a separate game from the other annual challenge entries by the same author.

Introductory instructions
Read the active mappings before leaving the opening.
Message area
Inspect the result of an action before issuing another.

Read the map alongside the text

The creator’s published screenshot shows the map and a textual account of the current situation. Use both when deciding what to do next. A symbol reveals location, while the text can explain the result of an action. Keeping the two together helps avoid repeating a move after an important message has appeared.

Learn this game’s commands

Other roguelikes by the same author can use different interfaces and mechanics. Read the introduction and the current command hints in Sleeping Beauty instead of copying a shortcut from another entry. The repository includes the input implementation, but this profile does not claim that every shortcut has been exercised in a completed browser run.

Treat it as a small standalone project

The README presents the game as a 7DRL submission and publishes its original browser host. It also identifies the Metrickal font. No repository-wide reuse licence was located in this review, so this site links to the original game and uses the creator’s published screenshot for editorial identification rather than redistributing the game bundle.

BEFORE YOU CLOSE THE TAB

What happens to your progress?
