Choose the server before the character
The official project directs browser players to its online server list. Servers can offer stable releases and development builds. Note both the host and the version before learning commands or searching for advice. A character on one server is not automatically the same stored run on another.
Treat a turn as a decision
Dungeon Crawl combines exploration, combat and magic. Use the tutorial to learn how movement, threats and the message panel fit together. As an opening habit, stop repeated movement when a new threat appears and inspect the state. A turn-based game gives you time to think while choosing an action; avoid carrying over reflex-game input habits.
Prefer the active version’s help
The repository includes both a quick-start document and a fuller manual. Some introductory text has a long history. Species lists, mechanics and server builds change, so use the running game’s help for current details. This guide intentionally avoids a supposedly universal build order or character recommendation.
What happens to your progress?
Online characters belong to the selected server/account and version. Use that host’s save/quit instructions; a local browser bookmark is not the character file.

Before the next click.
Does browser play mean this guide hosts the dungeon?
No. Follow the official project’s Play Online link and read the selected server’s rules.
Which release should a guide match?
Match the version shown by the server you actually choose. Development and stable builds can differ.
